I’ve come to really enjoy rehearsal dinners because they offer such a great opportunity to spend more time with my couples and their families and capture more intimate and candid moments. Elizabeth & Will’s rehearsal dinner hosted by Will’s parents at the Chatham Club on the eve of their April wedding was no exception. We started out with some portraits of just the two of them at Madison Square, then captured guests mingling. After dinner was toasts, and that’s when I get some of my favorite expressions, reactions, and tender moments.
There’s nothing like summertime in Savannah, so I knew as hard as Elizabeth and her family had been working on she and David’s wedding, that it would celebrate all of the most beautiful parts of Savannah. From the many special locations they celebrated on their wedding day, to their classic look but fun nod to the color green (the color that immediately makes me think of Savannah, personally!) they worked hard to make their wedding not only their own but also to include so many personal and heirloom touches.
I know Elizabeth and David found their equals in one another and I know the greatest things lie ahead for them in their marriage. They both have the most loving, supportive families and that’s always one of my favorite things to see…a couple surrounded by such a big, beautiful support system from those who love them the most. Their wedding day celebrated all of the best parts of their life together and I’m so glad I was there to document each special moment. Enjoy a few of my favorite images from their wedding day!
There is just so much I could say about this sweet girl. Working with her for over a year and a half has been so. much. fun. She’s just as happy and relaxed and kind and fun as she looks in photos. I was so excited to see her bridal look knowing that her wedding style was coming together to be SO beautiful, so I knew she had something fun up her sleeve, and I was definitely right. This dress was Cate all day long, and paired with loose curls for her long blonde hair, her signature side bang (heyo side bang club!), a gorgeous sash, simple flats, and best of all…this incredible bouquet from my favorite, Cote Designs, Cate was just stunning.
We had such a great time playing at the Lace House on yet another cloudy day (Fun fact: Cate & Nick were chased by the rain their entire engagement…from their first rained out engagement session to the second that threatened rain on and off, to the downpour right as we left her bridals, to a downpour in the middle of their wedding day – these two have the rain luck!) and I’m in love with the portraits we captured. So many favorites of this stunning bride!
Cameron and John’s waterfront Savannah wedding made for another stunning Saturday in this historic city. Cameron and her girls got ready downtown, and shortly after we coordinated she & John’s first look at Reynolds Square. So many times throughout the day I overheard John say, “I’m so glad we did a first look” and I have to agree; it fit them and their day perfectly. With their family & wedding party photos out of the way under some of the most stunning oak trees Savannah has to offer (downtown and Wormsloe), we headed off to the Isle of Hope to get them offifically hitched! Friends and family packed the church decked out in their best black tie attire, and my favorite part was when Cameron and John exited the church and let out a celebratory holler and all of the congretation couldn’t help but laugh and share in their joy.
Their reception followed at the Savannah Yacht Club and they were blessed with a stunning sunset, delicious dining, and amazing dancing. I know they felt so much love and joy from those in attendance and it was so fun watching them soak it in all evening. I’m so glad I was the one to document this day for a couple who are truly best friends and I’m so excited to share just a few of my favorite images!
What I love most about Elizabeth and Will’s story is that though they were both born in Georgia, grew up only a few hours apart, and had tons of mutual friends, it wasn’t until they were both following their ambitions in Washington, DC that they met. And when they met, things were pretty instant. Even at their rehearsal dinner, so many of their friends and family talked about how the first time they brought each other around, each side of the family knew that meant things were pretty serious. These two just fit together like two puzzle pieces, made perfectly for one another, and honestly I’m quite sad their wedding has come and gone because I’ve loved being a part of this sweet season in their lives! Now…to just start the petition for them to relocate back south… ; )
I know how hard Elizabeth and her mom worked to make this gorgeous day a reality, and though every wedding has minor hiccups, all in all I think it was pretty true to what Elizabeth and Will hoped for on their wedding day. So many friends and family came from near and far to celebrate their union and it warmed my heart, but didn’t surprise me, to see how many people love them and their families. I loved being able to document yet another stunning Savannah celebration and I hope this handful of my favorite images adequately depicts how perfect these two are for one another!

I am just so spoiled this spring by starting my year with such amazing couples. I knew after Lindsey and Will’s engagement session last year that their Savannah Station wedding was going to be extra special…they’re 100% laid back, so happy in each others company, and just kind, beautiful people so I knew on their wedding day they would be surrounded by so many loved ones just like them.
Fortunately, I was right, and Lindsey and Will’s family and friends made their wedding day. We got to take beautiful pictures in so many pretty parts of Savannah and in addition to just being kind, gorgeous people, they have wonderful taste because their entire wedding design at Savannah Station was stunning. Posh Petals & Pearls and Harvey Design decked out their reception in lush florals, rich fabrics, and such romantic and moody lighting that set the whole tone for their evening. I loved some of the personal touches they included…cocktail napkins from Lindsey’s parents 1984 wedding, flaming donuts in lieu of a grooms cake, and even a Clemson birthday cake for Lindsey’s granddad (Go Tigers!).
I’m so glad I was the one chosen to document not only this stunning day but two incredibly sweet people, their love for one another, and the love of everyone that loves them. Enjoy just a few of my favorites from Lindsey and Will’s Savannah wedding!
