Holy cow guys how has another year in business come and gone so quickly? Creating this post was such a labor of love and I have literally NEVER posted such a photo heavy post ever. But once I got the idea to go all out for a “best of” post, I couldn’t stop myself. I was pulling so many moments and memories from the year that just tugged so hard at my heartstrings, and now here we are, 164 images later. Add in an emo Spotify playlist and an evening at home alone, and you’ll get me all teary-eyed sitting at my computer reliving all of these awesome moments!
This year was a really wonderful one. Just like any other year in business and life, it had it’s ups and downs, challenges, and moments of celebration, but this was probably the year I felt more rooted in the purpose of my business than I ever have. I created work that I am more proud of than ever, connected with so many incredible people, re-connected with and got to experience new chapters in the lives of my past couples, and felt more grateful than I ever thought I could to witness so many amazing, real wedding day moments. My challenge for myself next year is to continue to document more moments like these below, moments that feel even more raw and imperfect. Because those are the images that stick with me the most, and I imagine stick with my couples the most too.
These images below are images that, for one reason or another, stopped me and made me think. I hope they do the same for you. Some of them are funny or subtle, some of them are thought provoking, some are just plain pretty, some demonstrate a huge wedding day challenge I overcame that maybe only mean much to me, and some may even have hidden meaning you may miss if you scroll too quickly. But many of them display sheer joy, excitement, or radiate with love, comfort, and family. And for those reasons among many others, that’s why they are my favorite wedding images from this past year.
Thanks for being along for the ride…to each of my couples and their families who trust and support me, thank you for hiring me and allowing me to document one of the most intimate days in your lives. To my friends, family, and peers who encourage me and walk along with me in creative entrepreneurship, thank you for all the support and every single kind word. To the vendors who create these incredible wedding days…wow…seriously thanks for giving me so much beauty to capture! And to each wedding day and the unique set of circumstances surrounding them, thanks for challenging me to learn, grow, and always strive to create better, more real work.
