I’m back with a bang, friends! After a solid two plus months of maternity leave, I’m so happy to kick of 2020 with my favorite post to compile every single year. In years past, I’ve separated weddings & portraits, but this year it’s one big all encompassing Best Of because honestly, 2019 was probably my favorite year in business yet and I love seeing all of these moments blended together!
Less is always more, and though I’ve known this for a long time, this year I really lived it. 2019 brought me less than a dozen wedding couples and a solid year of really great portrait clients. I was able to connect with all of my couples individually in the way that I love, and in turn having more margin meant I could say yes to so many new portrait sessions that did my heart so good. One of my favorite parts of the year was reconnecting with past couples who have welcomed new babies into their families. As a mom now myself, I’ve realized just how important it is to document those fleeting early days.
My hope is that 2020 carries this same structure. Like I fully believe…quality over quantity. Less is more. Thank you for being here, for supporting my work, being in front of my camera, trusting me with your moments, milestones, and memories, and giving me so much fulfillment through this work. I’m a lucky girl : )
The collection of images in this post are those that struck a cord with me the most. Whether they were emotional, funny, represented a technical challenge I overcame, or just downright beautiful; I am proud of them.
Special thanks to my second shooters this year…there are a handful of images included that were taken by them, and the success of each couples wedding day wouldn’t be what it is without them! Roxanne Still, Stephanie Davis, Molly Lawson, Sally Watts, Jen Harvey, Holly Graciano, and Devin Hayman. You guys are the bees knees!
