At this stage, many people don’t know that I actually started my business on photographing pet sessions. Working with animals was my first passion and is such a huge part of who I am so though my work has moved much more toward my love of weddings and my couples, any opportunity to get some four-legged kids in front of my camera is no doubt a good time!
I was so excited to work with Ashley and her crew of four dogs; Sage, Finn, Piper, and Banks. I was a little intimidated at first, knowing three were border collies and would likely look very similar, but once I met them, saw them working, got to know their personalities, and saw their distinguishing marks, it was easy to see they each had their own unique set of ways. We started the session at a farm just south of Annapolis, Maryland where Ashley often works two of her dogs; Piper and Banks, on sheep. From there, we headed to a local beach on the Chesapeake Bay where Ashley regularly walks and enjoys the water, sun, and sand with all four of her dogs. I loved this evening…talk about fun and these guys keeping me laughing! I’m excited to share a few of my favorite images below!
When it comes to planning an engagement session that encompasses how they like to spend their time and with whom, Marina and Kyle nailed it. Even though it was unusually cold for a May morning in Maryland, we met bright and early at one of the parks on the Patuxent River where they put their boat in to fish and spend time on the water.
First they had their two labs, Waylon and Winnie, join them, and I can 100% identify with the love they have for those pups. They were so much fun and I know they, along with their third dog Leia, are such a big part of how Marina and Kyle spend their time together. Then they launched their boat and we got out on the river for a bit. Of course including the dogs is hard to beat but seeing them, especially Kyle, so in his element and to see them enjoying their time together was the best. I’m so excited about these images and cannot wait until their wedding day this coming October!
Cameron and John’s waterfront Savannah wedding made for another stunning Saturday in this historic city. Cameron and her girls got ready downtown, and shortly after we coordinated she & John’s first look at Reynolds Square. So many times throughout the day I overheard John say, “I’m so glad we did a first look” and I have to agree; it fit them and their day perfectly. With their family & wedding party photos out of the way under some of the most stunning oak trees Savannah has to offer (downtown and Wormsloe), we headed off to the Isle of Hope to get them offifically hitched! Friends and family packed the church decked out in their best black tie attire, and my favorite part was when Cameron and John exited the church and let out a celebratory holler and all of the congretation couldn’t help but laugh and share in their joy.
Their reception followed at the Savannah Yacht Club and they were blessed with a stunning sunset, delicious dining, and amazing dancing. I know they felt so much love and joy from those in attendance and it was so fun watching them soak it in all evening. I’m so glad I was the one to document this day for a couple who are truly best friends and I’m so excited to share just a few of my favorite images!
